Join our Peatland Expedition

All our trips have been suspended due to the current COVID-19 situation.
You can register your interest below. Should you still want to do your part to restore peatlands, you can contribute to your tree adoption programme.
Have you felt helpless whenever haze hits home? Ever wondered if we can actually stop haze? Well, you can be a PEEP-er who prevents haze.
Air Hitam forest reserve is home to the last peat swamp forest in Southern Peninsula Malaysia. Our 2 day 1 night expedition to the conserved area will allow participants to learn how to protect peatlands, get hands-on with planting trees, and spend time with a warm and hospitable ethnic Javanesecommunity.

2 hours away from Singapore, the reserve is surrounded by community plantations of rubber and pineapples. Air Hitam Forest Reserve measures at 3,797 hectares, larger than Hougang, Woodlands and Tampines towns combined. It is the last standing peat swamp forest in Southern Peninsula Malaysia. Having experienced fires, the community understand the need to practice sustainable production to prevent fires and haze.
